For those that would prefer to move their site over to Hostpapa’s servers themselves then you can do so simply and easily. It’s good practice to understand the structure of your site’s files and what is located within your site directory.

How to migrate my website to Hostpapa server correctly?
Hostpapa is a cPanel web hosting service, so the steps below are all based on cPanel specifications.
- Make sure your website is still working on the old hosting server and do not cancel the old hosting right away.
- Upload your website files to your Hostpapa account public_html directory. You can upload via FTP or cPanel file manager.
- If your website uses MYSQL databases make sure to import the backup to Hostpapa server via PHPMyAdmin (your old hoster would be able to help out with the backup if you’re not sure how). Once done, you could be able to use the temp URL in your welcome email to test the website.
- Set up your email accounts within cPanel. Be aware that security settings may be different from your old hosting provider (even if the email address, password and mailbox type are the same).
Hostpapa Mail Settings for incoming mail
- For incoming mail with POP or IMAP accounts, use
- Use Port 995 for POP email accounts or 993 for IMAP accounts.
- Check the box next to Requires a secure connection (SSL).
- Hostpapa’s email servers require that you select Secure Password Authentication when connecting to their mail servers.
- Your email login name is your username
For the outgoing server settings, enter the following details:
- For outgoing mail with POP or IMAP accounts, use mail.papamail.net
- Use Port 465 for POP or IMAP accounts. This also requires the boxes next to Requires a secure connection (SSL) and Requires authentication to be selected within your mail client.

Hostpapa DNS Settings
5. Change the DNS settings with your registrar. The best way would be changing the DNS servers directly so every service will be pointed to Hostpapa. Hostpapa has two DNS servers: ns1.hostpapa.com and ns2.hostpapa.com.
Please keep in mind the change of DNS server will take up to 72 hours for propagation. During this period your website might not work so make sure you choose the right time to edit the settings. Once your new DNS settings go alive, your website/email and everything will be up from Hostpapa server.
